The first few months of 2011 saw some much welcome rain, that though it did not allow Joffrey Creek to flow, it did add some water to the pools within Wittenoom Gorge. Also the appearance of new, green spinafix grass over vast areas brought feed for cattle and saw them leave the gorge area and return to station country.
This area is still suffering, and hope is for a good cyclone season at the end of the year. But a rejuvenation of the pools will see plenty of tourists heading for both the Pilbara and Kimberley region to experience this beautiful area.
